Local growth and the UK’s competitiveness in global markets

Westminster Media Forum Keynote Seminar

Guests of Honour:

Caroline Norbury, Chief Executive Officer, Creative England

Helen Warren, Head of Creative Industries, Department for Culture, Media and Sport

Sir Richard Leese, Leader, Manchester City Council and Vice Chair, Greater Manchester Combined Authority

This conference will assess the priorities for developing the creative economy in the North of England, and how it fits into the growth agenda of the Northern Powerhouse.

It will bring together local and national policymakers with key stakeholders from across the creative and digital sectors – and potential partners in growth from local government, the wider business community, higher education and providers of infrastructure.

Following the result of the EU referendum, and with a new direction for government, delegates will assess the future of the creative industries in the North in relation to wider devolution initiatives aimed at boosting regional economies, as well as what is needed to support the sector’s continued growth through effective collaboration, job creation, investment and cultural enrichment.

Further information, including an agenda, the complete line-up of speakers and details of how to reserve places to attend can be found on the Westminster Media Forum website here.
